Tax Law should be easy to defend ANY client.....because TAXABLE YEARS ENDED AUGUST 16 1954! 26 CFR 1.0-1 of the IRC of 1954 paragraph (d) clearly says TAXABLE YEARS began December 31 1953 and ENDED AUGUST 16 1954. Any Subtitle F compliant enforcement provisions took effect the day AFTER the date of ENACTMENT which was August 17 1954 but on that day there was NO TAX TO ENFORCE AS the tax died expired the day before... August 16 1954 passed into LAW by the 83rd Congress AS LAW and published AS LAW in Volume 68A of the United States Statutes at Large and Federal Register. There has NOT BEEN AN ENFORCEABLE LEGAL INCOME TAX FOR 70 YEARS!!!

Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do. I have had a really hard time trying to get my degree because of the ablism, lack of understanding and support from my schools (at first) and the horrible mental health state I got into. I’ve survived suicide 4x. I started out at college at the University of Nevada Reno (hometown) and they treated me so badly I made the decision to move to Texas and got no better treatment at first. I was at University of North Texas. I didn’t know how to advocate for myself. I let Texas Workforce Commission toss me around and tell me I will never be able to achieve my educational goals because they are unachievable goals because I’m disabled. I learned new skills in self advocacy Over the years. Met so many advocates and people with disabilities and then had to become an advocate for myself and this motivated me to become an advocate for others so they didn’t have to struggle in the same ways I have with knowing nothing about disability despite having one. I learned to speak up and stop making myself feel like I have to prove myself worthy to others because I have disabilities. I hate having to prove myself because it’s dehumanizing to me and makes me feel invalidated as a person. I’m sorry I wrote a book here but I really wanted to respond to this video. It spoke to me. Thanks for your advocacy!

I have a few questions, I heard that getting a job as a tax attorney is incredibly hard, is that true?? I’ve got 2 years left on this degree, but I didn’t get started until later in life so I won’t graduate with my bachelors until 2023-2024 (I’ll be 33-34 y/o by then). Either way, to answer your question about job prospects, I would say keep pushing! I have several close friends who are attorneys (only one specializes in tax) and they have all advised that, no, it isn’t easy but if it is something you are passionate about you have a great chance of being highly successful. You should look into not only tax law but also structuring businesses/general business law, and mergers and acquisitions. Hope this helped

I appreciate the tips and will look into it as I go through college and get my degree. If you dont mind I have 2 more questions. If you dont mind me asking, how much money does your friend make that specializes in tax. Also, how should I start researching business/general business law. I plan on changing my degree to Accounting instead of business admin so I dont think ill learn it in college

First and foremost, the words “Thank You” doesn’t even begin to express the amount of appreciation and restored faith y’all give us in seeking justice from a injustice system. 24 YEARS SENTENCE ON DV/GBI (one self inflicted cut, 5 stitches, nothing else). BRADY VIOLATION: Removal and replacement of exploratory material (original hospital report when stitches were received, cleaning of wound proves innocent of GBI). PLEASE PREVENT US FROM WRONGFULLY LOSING ANYMORE YEARS OF OUR LIFE’S. THERES MUCH MORE, not fully informing jury of all they’re options/info. Testimony from arresting officer, multiple statements that favored defense. Trial attorney admits inadequate defense/fear of losing bar licenses/end of career, sent in text to other attorney who testified as witness after showing judge. This was the District Attorney’s last case before transferring from Trial County to Monterey County, later explaining all the denied motions, making a mockery of an already unstable, unprepared personal defense attorney that not once appeared in court on time and one court day completely failed to appear at all. I send this in hopes of gaining attention to my inmates case,.....Joshua Phillips #BI0578, who two weeks ago sent in the questionnaire packet that’s required. Time is also our struggle now that we realize the state appointed appeal attorney is not only ignoring our main issues of argument but has not replied by mail, answering/returning our calls, nor have we received any copies of briefs (appeal is fully briefed). Seeking Writ of Haebus Corpus, to retrieve Original FIRST Hospital Report, (discovery has the subpoena showing, signed and released as page one but fallowed by different hospital report taken two days later from different hospital), resulting in a Brady Violation. Bottom line.....relationship at its end, couple already living separate for six months, one night hook up, intoxicated female decides to search cell phone of Mr. Phillips while he sleeps, finding texts conversations to other females, he’s awakened by cell being thrown to his head, argument occurs, she leaves on foot, busting wall mirror on her way out amongst other things amidst her rating and raving. He retreats to living room couch where later he’s awaken by officer’s arresting him. She testified and admits to her mixing of alcohol with medical mental prescriptions. (Three prior self admitted 5150 holds) The “pause” when questioned by first contact with officer (stated by officer under oath) was the moment she realized she could see to it “if he’s NOT with her, then he’ll be with nobody” the rest (her recorded conversation, answers to questions and demeanor from that point on, screams resentment and bitterness) not one sign of fear, pain or the typical signs of a threatened/ physically abused victim.

I am a just a prospective law student, but their website indicates that they will only review cases when they are submitted by mail. Here is the website with detailed instructions on how to get in touch with them. www.innocenceproject.org/submit-case/ I wish you the best.

Michelle Nguyen Thank you for you’re reply and time, the Innocent Project won’t look into a case until the appeal has been completed and by then we’re limited to a tight time limit to filing for a federal appeal. Our current state appointed appeal attorney is only seeking the drop of enhancements which would be dropped anyhow due to the changes in California state laws as of 2019. The Brady Violation is STILL being ignored!!! Thank you again but our fight for justice in a injustice system still remains as well as my Faith.
